Assault & Obstacle Course Hire in Leicester, Hinckley, Loughborough, Coventry & Leicestershire
Start at one end. Work your way through. Come out at the other. Then decide whether you're going around again.
That's what makes an inflatable assault course different from a conventional bouncy castle. Instead of providing one open bouncing area, an obstacle course gives participants a route to follow through different inflatable sections. It creates continuous movement and gives larger events an attraction with a clear beginning and finish.
BB Castle Hire provides Assault Course Hire for birthdays, school fun days, corporate events, charity days and community events in Leicester, Hinckley, Loughborough, Market Harborough, Lutterworth, Coalville and Coventry.
What Happens Inside an Inflatable Obstacle Course?
Rather than staying in one bouncing area, participants progress through the inflatable from one section to another. Depending on the particular course, that can mean negotiating inflatable obstacles, moving between sections and working towards the exit.
That journey is a big part of the appeal. Every turn starts from the beginning again, so the attraction naturally encourages repeat use without needing somebody to continually invent new games.
Our 65ft Graffiti Obstacle Course is one of the substantial options available for suitable events with enough room for a larger inflatable setup.
When a Bouncy Castle Isn't Quite Big Enough for the Job
There's nothing wrong with a traditional bouncy castle. For a smaller children's birthday, it may be exactly what you need. But a large school field, sports ground or community event creates a very different environment.
An assault course has a longer footprint and creates a visible route through the attraction. That can make it a useful centrepiece when you're working with a bigger site and want equipment with more physical presence than a standard castle.
You can still add conventional Bouncy Castles elsewhere for younger children or those who prefer open bouncing, giving different sections of the event their own purpose.
School Field + Assault Course = A Very Useful Combination
School fun days are one of the occasions where obstacle courses really make sense. You often have more outdoor space available than at a private home, a large number of children to entertain and a need for several distinct activities.
Instead of placing everything together, the field can be divided into zones. The assault course becomes one major attraction, while Penalty Shootout, Football Darts or Garden Games can provide different activities elsewhere.
Schools, PTAs and organisers planning end-of-term celebrations, reward days and fun days can find more relevant hire options on our School Events page.
Keep People Moving Through the Attraction
Event layout isn't only about fitting the inflatable onto the site. It's also about considering where people enter, where they leave and what happens around the attraction.
An obstacle course has a natural direction of travel. At a busy event, that can be useful because participants aren't simply entering an open play area and remaining there indefinitely. They progress through the course and eventually reach the end.
When planning the position, allow for the complete operating area specified for the product as well as space for people approaching and leaving the attraction. Avoid creating a layout where the exit feeds directly into another busy activity, refreshment queue or main pedestrian route.
Obstacle Courses for Corporate Fun Days
Corporate entertainment doesn't have to mean sitting around a table. For informal staff days and company family events, inflatable activities can provide something completely removed from the normal working environment.
An assault course can form part of a broader activity area alongside equipment such as Bungee Run, Gladiator Duel or other Interactive Inflatables.
If you're organising entertainment on behalf of a company, take a look at our Corporate Events service for more ways to develop the event beyond a single attraction.
Can You Hire an Assault Course for a Birthday Party?
Absolutely, provided the chosen equipment is appropriate for the users and you've got a suitable location with enough operating space.
An obstacle course can give a larger birthday a completely different format from the traditional castle-and-party-food setup. Children have a route to work through and can return for repeated turns throughout the hire period.
For a birthday where you want several activities, you could add a Inflatable Slide, football game or another suitable attraction to create more than one place for children to head.
Planning a Charity or Community Event?
Larger public and community occasions often need attractions that remain interesting as different visitors arrive during the day. An obstacle course can work as one part of a wider entertainment programme rather than relying on scheduled performances or organised games.
For charity organisers, our Charity & Fundraising page provides further event hire information. You can also browse Fun Day Hire if you're putting together several activities for the same site.
How Much Space Does an Assault Course Need?
Potentially quite a lot, which is why measuring properly should happen before booking rather than on delivery day.
Long inflatable obstacle courses need sufficient usable ground for the complete product and its required operating area. Measure the actual setup location and compare it with the specifications shown for the particular course you're considering.
When assessing an outdoor site, take account of:
- The complete operating dimensions of the chosen inflatable
- Trees, branches and other overhead obstacles
- Fences, walls, paths and buildings
- Goalposts, playground equipment and permanent site features
- Other inflatables, stalls, marquees and event equipment
- A practical delivery route to the setup position
For outdoor inflatable hire, suitable real grass is generally required so the equipment can be securely anchored.
Can Assault Courses Be Set Up Indoors?
Indoor hire depends on the dimensions of both the chosen course and the venue. Larger obstacle courses can require substantial floor space, and height clearance also needs to be checked.
Measure the usable hall rather than relying on the venue's overall dimensions. Stages, storage areas, fixed seating, pillars and other equipment can reduce the space available. Ceiling beams, lights and other overhead fittings also need to be taken into account.
Access can be equally important with larger equipment. Doorways, corridors, steps and the route from the delivery vehicle should all be considered before confirming that a venue is suitable.
If you're still looking for an indoor location, browse our Venues For Hire.
What If Your Event Is in the Middle of a Field?
Large outdoor events sometimes have plenty of space but very little convenient access to mains electricity. That's something worth identifying early in the planning process.
For suitable bookings, our Generators can provide another power option. Tell us about the proposed site when enquiring so the practical requirements can be considered alongside the inflatable itself.
Build the Rest of the Event Around It
A large assault course can anchor one section of your event, but it doesn't need to dominate everything else.
You might create a quieter children's section using Soft Play & Ball Pool, place sports activities in another area and use Fun Foods to establish a separate refreshment point.
For bigger bookings requiring several attractions, our Event & Package Deals provide combinations to consider, while Event Hire covers our broader event services.
Assault Course Safety, Testing and Installation
Large inflatable equipment needs appropriate installation, operation and supervision. BB Castle Hire maintains and cleans its hire equipment carefully and installs inflatables according to the requirements of the individual product and location.
Our inflatable equipment is built to BS EN 14960 requirements and receives PIPA or RPII inspection where applicable. Electrical equipment is PAT tested, and BB Castle Hire carries £5 million public liability insurance.
Schools, companies and event organisers requiring further information can visit our Health and Safety page. Risk assessments can also be supplied where required.

One long inflatable. Plenty happening between the entrance and the exit.
